Dorothy L. Kitzmiller

Retired Cook for Buffalo School System

Dorothy (nee Jones) Kitzmiller, age 75, of Riverside in Buffalo, died Thursday, April 30, 2009 at Crestwood Court in Wheatfield. Born in Elk Garden, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Myrtle (nee Lyons) Jones. Mrs. Kitzmiller was a cook for the Buffalo Public School System, before retiring. She was the wife of the late Delbert J. Kitzmiller, Sr., who died March 22, 1988, and grandmother of the late Christopher Kitzmiller.

She is survived by her two daughters, Norma (Robert Abt) Kitzmiller of Tonawanda, and Catherine (Dennis) Ellis of Newfane; her son, Delbert (Annette) Kitzmiller, Jr. of Bliss; two sisters, Anna (William) Evans of Franklinville, and Betty (Harland) Friend of Mt. Zion, Maryland; and five grandchildren, Danae Wassinger, Ronald Ellis, Crystal Kitzmiller, Jacklyn Kitzmiller, and Patrick Kitzmiller. Also surviving are three great-grandchildren, Samantha Ellis, TJ Leiser and Connor Leiser, and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 2-6 PM on Sunday and after 10 AM on Monday at the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc., Adam and Seymour Streets, Tonawanda, where funeral services will be held at 11 AM Monday; the Rev. Chris Lonneville officiating. Friends invited. Inurnment will be cared for privately at the Oddfellows Cemetery in Elk Garden, West Virginia. If desired, memorials to Hospice are preferred.
