Adora Rounds
Member of former Ascension Parish
Adora (nee Santarella) Rounds, age 81, of North Tonawanda, died Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at Niagara Hospice, after a long illness. Born in Niagara Falls, New York, she was the daughter of the late Pasquale and Libera (nee Maddalena) Santarella and had been a resident of North Tonawanda for more than 50 years. Mrs. Rounds was a housekeeper at DeGraff Memorial Hospital before retiring in 1993. A member of the former Ascension Parish in North Tonawanda, she was an avid bingo player. She was the wife of the late Roderick C. Rounds, who died May 22, 1978.
She is survived by her two sons, Brian J. Rounds of North Tonawanda, and Bruce (Genevieve) Rounds of Tonawanda; two granddaughters, Megan and Emily Rounds; a sister, Mary Santarella of Niagara Falls, NY; and a sister-in-law, Phyllis Santarella of North Tonawanda. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 4-8 PM today (Friday) only at the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc., Adam and Seymour Streets, Tonawanda. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 AM Saturday at St. Christopher R.C. Church, 2660 Niagara Falls Blvd. in Tonawanda. Friends invited. Interment will be cared for privately at Riverdale Cemetery in Lewiston. If desired, memorials to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094, are preferred by the family.
