Laurel "Jean" (nee Schlueter) Keitz, age 83, of North Tonawanda, died Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at her residence, after a brief illness. Born in Detroit, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late George and Grace (nee Lippe) Schleuter. A resident of North Tonawanda for more than 30 years, she was employed at the State University of New York at Buffalo before retiring in 1992. Mrs. Keitz was an animal lover and had many cats. She was the wife of the late Edward Keitz, who died in December 1974, and sister of the late George Schlueter.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda J. Paveljack of North Tonawanda; her brother, Carl (Norma) Schlueter of the Town of Tonawanda; and her sister-in-law, Rosemary Schlueter of Buffalo. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews and loving members of the Richard Clontz Family.
Friends may call from 5-8 PM today (Friday) only at the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc., Adam and Seymour Streets, Tonawanda, where funeral services will be held at 8 PM Friday. Friends invited. Interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda. If desired, memorials to the SPCA are preferred by the family.
