Jane Betz Proefrock
Member of Salem Church
Jane A. (nee Snowman) Betz Proefrock, age 84, of the Town of Tonawanda, died unexpectedly, Sunday, June 14, 2009, at her residence. Born in North Tonawanda, she was the daughter of the late Sarah Snowman and had been employed at the Federal Reserve Bank in Buffalo, before retiring. A lifelong resident of the Tonawandas, Mrs. Proefrock was a member of Salem United Church of Christ in Tonawanda. She was the wife of the late Henry F. Betz, who died in 1980.
She is survived by her husband, Francis H. Proefrock; two daughters, Marie (Thomas) Bozzard of the City of Tonawanda, and Diane (George) Kunkel of the Town of Tonawanda; and six step-children, Sharon Razzani, Ronald Proefrock, Barbara Ritchie, Joy Bastine, Jacqueline McGinity, and Nancy Pieper. Also surviving are many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Tuesday at the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc., Adam and Seymour Streets, Tonawanda, where funeral services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday; the Rev. John L. Tipton officiating. Friends invited. Interment will be cared for privately at Elmlawn Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda. If desired, memorials to Salem Church, 114 Morgan Street, Tonawanda, NY 14150, or the James V. Ryan Paramedic Foundation, c/o Town of Tonawanda Paramedic Unit, 1835 Sheridan Drive, Buffalo, NY 14223, are preferred by the family.
