Rita L. Chiavaroli
Member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish
Rita (nee Stasio) Chiavaroli, age 86, of Tonawanda, died Tuesday, July 7, 2009, at Millard Fillmore Hospital, after a long illness. Born in Buffalo, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary (nee Odierno) Stasio, and had been a resident of Tonawanda for more than 50 years. An active member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Tonawanda, she was the wife of the late Frank T. Chiavaroli, whom she married June 26, 1939 in Buffalo and who died March 31, 1997, and was predeceased by 13 brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her dear sister-in-law, Angeline (Chiavaroli) Cicatello; and was the cherished aunt of many loving nieces and nephews, including the Hon. John J. LaFalce, Lorraine (LaFalce) Kenny, Mary (Stasio) Krurnowski, et. al. She was the dearest, devoted great-aunt and great-great-aunt, and had a very large circle of caring and faithful friends and neighbors.
Friends may call from 3-7 PM on Thursday only at the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc., Adam and Seymour Streets in Tonawanda, where prayers will be said at 9:30 AM Friday, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Church on Broad Street in Tonawanda; the Rev. Michael Uebler officiating. Friends invited. Interment at Elmlawn Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda.
