Norma E. Martin

Retired from DeGraff Hospital

Norma (nee Sullivan) Martin, age 81, of North Tonawanda, died Thursday, August 27, 2009 at DeGraff Memorial Hospital, after a brief illness. Born in North Tonawanda, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Johanna (nee Hartman) Sullivan and a lifelong resident of North Tonawanda. Mrs. Martin had been employed as a Nurses' Aide at DeGraff Memorial Hospital before retiring. She was the wife of the late Donald L. Martin, Sr., who died October 6, 1982, and mother of the late Norma Jean Mattucci, who died June 22, 2007.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan N. Martin of Tonawanda; two sons, Richard (Danusha) Martin of Buffalo, and Donald Martin, Jr. of North Tonawanda; five grandchildren, John L. Martin, Richard Martin, Jr., Rosalie Martin, Danielle Mattucci, and Katie Mattucci; and a sister, Patricia Preisch of Wheatfield. Also surviving are two great-grandchildren, Emily and Trevor, and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Sunday at the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc., Adam and Seymour Streets, Tonawanda, where funeral services will be held at 10 AM Monday; the Rev. Dino J. Lorenzetti officiating. Friends invited. Interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda.
