Lifelong resident of the Tonawandas
John A. Kisiel, age 44, of Tonawanda, died Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at Hospice Buffalo, after a long illness. Born in Huntington, West Virginia, he was a lifelong resident of the Tonawandas and had been employed at Tops Markets for more than 27 years, before becoming ill. John was an avid hockey fan and enjoyed playing his guitar. He was the son of the late Barbara (nee Coons) Kisiel, and brother of the late Michael and Joseph Kisiel.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy (nee Watts) Kisiel; three sons, Norman Brumfield of Jacksonville, Florida, Chris Kisiel of Tonawanda, and Cody Kisiel of Tonawanda; a daughter, Jennifer Brumfield of Tonawanda; a grandson, Bryan Brumfield; his father, Michael Kisiel of North Tonawanda; two brothers, Paul (Ellen) Kisiel of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Thomas Kisiel of Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania; and four sisters, Ann Marie (Tom) Kromer of Niagara Falls, Mary (Kevin) Duguay of Charlotte, North Carolina, Joan (Tim) Reilly of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Cindy Brokob of Tonawanda. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 1-3 PM on Saturday only at the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc., Adam and Seymour Streets, Tonawanda, where funeral services will be held at 3 PM Saturday; the Rev. Richard Rouse officiating. Friends invited. If desired, memorials to the family are preferred.
