Mr. James (Jim) Kinney

Special Services:
Funeral services were held Thursday June 18, 2009 at the Millington United Methodist Church. Pastor Pete Crawford delivered the funeral message and the closing prayers at the cemetery. Jim was laid to rest at the Millington Twp. Cemetery. Cemetery services concluded with the Military Honors conducted by the Conrad-Wager & Keene American Legion Post #164.

Jim passed from our world into God's Kingdom early Sunday afternoon June 14, 2009 at his residence with family and friends at his side. Jim was 86.

James Samuel Kinney was the son of the late Chester and Mary (Seddon) Kinney Sr and was born in Watertown Twp. on February 25, 1923. Jim graduated from Mayville High School. After high school Jim served our country during WW II in the US Navy. When Jim returned from the Navy he married Miss Viola Burns, and together he and Viola have celebrated 62 years of marriage. Jim worked as a Tool & Die Maker for various companies such as; Universal Engineering in Frankenmuth MI, Wicks Tool & Die of Saginaw MI Jim retired from the Godman Tool Co. based in Milford CT. Jim leaves his wife Viola, their ten children of which Jim was very proud of all of his family. David & Dianne Kinney, Tim & Carolyn Kinney, Dan Kinney, Debbie & Vern Wilkinson, Tom Kinney, Libbie Knauer, Pete & Darlene Kinney, Ben Kinney, Rachel & Glen Pierson, and Hannah Henderson. Jim leaves also sixteen grandchildren, and fifteen great grandchildren. A sister and brother in-law; Esther & Ran McDonnel, a brother and sister in-law; Chester & Betty Kinney Jr. and several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Besides his parents Jim is prfeceded in death by, a infant daughter Dinah Ruth Kinney, two sisters; Iris Burns, and Joan Sherman, three brothers; Andrew, Paul, and Chester Kinney two brothers in-law; George Burns, and Mar Sherman.
Memorial Gifts of Remembrance can be directed to the family. Hanlin Funeral Home has been assisting the Kinney family with the arrangements.
