| | | Robert V. (Bob) McPherson of Millington passed away Tuesday September 29, 2009 while at the Fisher Senior & Rehabilitation Center in Mayville, Bob was 90.
Robert was born in Millington MI on Feb. 15, 1919. Robert was the grandson and adopted son of Harvey & Maude McPherson. He graduated from Millington High School. He married Phyllis Ross in 1941. Bob also served our country in the US-Army in Italy during WW II. He retired from the Wolverine Telephone Company after many years of service. Bob was a life time member of the Millington Lions Club, a member of the VFW, and a member of the Conrad-Wager & Keene American Legion Post 164 of Millington.
Bob is survived by his wife Phyllis, two daughters and son in-laws, JoEllen & Bill Bow,
and Merry & Jeff Cypher all of Millington. Surviving also are grandchildren, Jared & Michelle Cypher of Lansing MI, Hilary & Pete Schiefer of Vassar MI, Renee & Jeff Cooper of Monroe WA, and Lisa & Mark Potter of Lake Stevens WA. six great grandchildren, Linzie, Samantha, and Quinn Cooper, Lauren and Caden Potter, and Logen Cypher. Bob was preceded in death by a son Ross McPherson of Monroe WA in 2005.
The McPherson family would like to thank those have honored Bob in the past with various awards and all those at Fishers who loved and cared for him and will dearly miss him.
The family has honored Bob's request and cremation has taken place. The McPherson family would like to invite friends to attend the graveside services at which time Bob's ashes will be interred at the Millington Twp. Cemetery. This service will be held on Friday October 23, 2009 at 1:00 PM. Gifs of Remembrance can be directed to; Lions Club Leader Dog School for the Blind, Millington-Arbela Historical Society, or the Millington Community Center.
