Minna Frances (Fowler) Mix, the daughter of John W. and Martha (Dorrfel) Fowler was born October 31, 1922, in Terril, Iowa, and departed this life on Sunday, June 7, 2009, at the Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, at the age of 86.

She received her education in the Estherville Schools.

On September 19, 1942, Minna was united in marriage to Gordon Mix at Dakota City, Nebraska. After their marriage, the couple lived in Kennsett, IA, Mason City, IA, rural Alpha, MN, and in rural Armstrong, IA where they
lived and farmed for 20 years. The couple then moved to Estherville where they made their home. Gordon passed away January 9, 1997.

Minna was a member of RSVP, enjoyed craftwork and especially spending time with her family.

Left to cherish Minna's memory are her daughters, Starlene Bortvit of Bolivar, Missouri; Sherry Fisher and her husband, Marvin of Estherville; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; sisters and brothers, Nellie Phillips and her husband, Merle of Fergus Falls, Minnesota; Pearl Mortimore of Spencer, Iowa; Hans Fowler and his wife, Joyce of Adel, Iowa; Max Fowler of Palacios, Texas; and Evelyn Zhorne of Waterloo, Iowa.

She has been preceded in death by her parents; husband; granddaughter, Jodi; son-in-law, Larry; two great-grandchildren; three brothers and five sisters.
