| Floyd Vernon Johnson, the son of Clark and Alice (Clark) Johnson, was born September 27, 1915, in rural East Chain, Minnesota. He passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2009, at his home in rural Estherville, Iowa, at the age of 94 years.
He received his education in District 58, Lake Fremont Township schools. On February 4, 1940, Floyd was united in marriage to Luella Mae Cox at First Christian Church in Estherville. The couple made their home in southern Minnesota and later Iowa, where they raised their family and farmed. The couple farmed northeast of Estherville for many years. Luella died September 24, 2009. Floyd was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Dunnell, Minnesota. Left to cherish Floyd's memory are his children, Leila Valen and her husband, Don of Estherville; Dennis Johnson and his wife, Judy of Huntington, Iowa; Daryl Johnson and Pat Murray of Estherville; Diane Guritz and her husband, Mark of Tucson, Arizona; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Leona Anderson of Fairmont, Minnesota; and brothers-in-law, Daryl Cox of St. Paul, Minnesota and Melvin Cox and his wife, Marilyn of Fairmont. Preceding Floyd in death were, his wife, Luella; one son, Dale; his parents; one sister, Helen Johnson; and two brothers, Clayton and Romaine. INTERMENT Lake Freemont Township Cemetery Dunnell | ||
