Marilyn Brittain, age 79, of Glenwood, IA, passed away at her home on Monday, October 12, 2009.

Marilyn Marie (Goodman) Brittain passed away on October 12, 2009 due to complications from a long illness.

Marilyn was born on July 7, 1930 in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Dean E. and Vera Sarah (Hawkins) Goodman. She was joined by one sister, Barbara Lee Goodman and one brother, Donald Ivan Goodman.

Marilyn attended first and second grade in Silver City, Iowa, then moved with her family to Glenwood. She also attended school in Council Bluffs and in Omaha, Nebraska before returning to Glenwood.

Marilyn married Delbert Dwayne Brittain on May 23, 1948. They were blessed with four children, Janace Lorraine, Vickie Lynn, Deborah Kay, and Ronald Dwayne.

Marilyn worked at the Falk Corporation in Reno, Nevada, before retiring in 1985. She loved country and western music, square dancing, reading, and genealogy.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter Janace. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Delbert Brittain of Glenwood, son, Ronald Brittain, of Glenwood; daughters, Debbie Lane and husband Bruce of Oceanside, California, and Vickie Harmon and husband Bill of Idaho Falls, Idaho; brother, Donald Goodman and wife Kathy of Yuma, Arizona; sister, Barbara Appleton of Brea, California; 9 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and friends.

She will be greatly missed by all whose life she touched.
