| | | Funeral services for Frances B. Wingerter, 73, a resident of Davenport will be Thursday, October 22, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at the Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home, 614 Main Street, Davenport. Burial will be at Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation is 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. prior to the service time Thursday at the funeral home. Frances died Tuesday at Select Specialty Hospital following an extended illness. Memorials may be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
Frances Barbara Van Hoosier was born December 31, 1935 in Northwood, Iowa to Charles and Barbara (Popp) Van Hoosier. Frances married Doug Wingerter on November 27, 1953 in Kirksville, Missouri. Prior to her retirement she had been a cook for many years.
She enjoyed playing Bingo, loved gardening and canning, and was an excellent cook for family and friends. She especially loved spending time with grandchildren and great grandchildren and dearly loved her two cats.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Rita (Greg) Schnoor, Blue Grass, Barbara Wirtjes-Sullivan, Grand Mound, Richard (Renee) Wingerter, Davenport; her grandchildren Stephanie (Mark) White, Steve (Jen) Wirtjes, Susan (Aaron) Osborn, Amanda (Dan) White, Casey (Dane) Roberts, Bobbie Wingerter and Bailey Wingerter; her great-grandchildren Kolby, Kanon, Kuper, Diego, Isabel, Noah, Megan, and Emaline is on the way. Her brothers Arthur (Dorothy) Van Hoosier, Park View, Charles (Nancy) Van Hoosier, Davenport, Fred (Martha) Van Hoosier, Eldridge and Donald Van Hoosier, Davenport. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister-in-law Gertrude “Gertie” Van Hoosier.
