Private family graveside services for Margaret E. Sothmann, 92, a resident of Davenport were held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Davenport. Mrs. Sothmann passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2009 at Genesis Medical Center, West Campus. Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements. Margaret Elizabeth Real was born on November 23, 1916 to John and Margaret (Galvin) Real in Putnam, Illinois. She was united in marriage to Lester J. Sothmann at St. Joseph’s Church, Henry, IL. He preceded her in death on November 12, 1980. Margaret graduated from Senachwine High School in Putnam, IL, and Brown’s Business College, Davenport. She was employed as a secretary at L.W. Ramsey Advertising Company. Margaret was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, the Alter and Rosary Society, and the Catholic Women’s League. The family respectfully asks that no flowers or memorials be given. She is survived by her daughters, Mary Isaacson and Jeanne Van Hulle; a son, James Sothmann; and grandsons, Patrick and Michael Van Hulle. She was preceded in death by her husband, and a daughter, Margaret Ellen. May they rest in peace.
