Ellis Glenn Horner, age 83, of Blytheville, died Tuesday at the Manila Nursing Center. Born in Manila he was the son of the late Frank and Edith Turner Horner and was a 1942 graduate of Manila High School. He was a U. S. Navy Veteran of World War II having served on the U.S.S. James Douglas Blackwood, destroyer escort. Glenn graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1949 where he was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity, and had been a Blytheville resident since 1960. He had worked as a sales associate for John Hancock Life Insurance Company and was the former general manager for Farm Bureau Life Insurance in Blytheville. Mr. Horner later founded Horner Financial Services and Insurance. Glenn was a former member and past President of the Manila Lions Club, and a member of the Rotary Club of Blytheville where he was a Paul Harris Fellow. Glenn was a longtime member of the Blytheville First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Joan Perkins Horner of Blytheville

2 sons;
Ellis Glenn Horner, Jr. of Little Rock and
Joseph P. Horner and his wife, Annette of Germantown, TN

1 daughter, Jane Horner Johnson and her husband, Joe of Little Rock.

Glenn also leaves 2 grandchildren;
Denise P. Horner and Jay Horner

Memorial Service will be 1:30 Friday at the First United Methodist Church in Blytheville with Rev. Chris Cooper and Rev. Pam Estes officiating.
