| | | James A. Ballard, age 82, of Leachville, died Friday at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born near Heber Springs, he was the son of the late Jacob and Mabel Wallace Ballard and had been a Leachville resident since 1955. He was retired from Hytrol Conveyor in Jonesboro and was a member of the Etowah Pentecostal Church of God. Mr. Ballard was a U. S. Army Veteran of World War II. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Ballard in 1976.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Barbara Crews Ballard of the home.

Jake Ballard and his wife, Patricia of Leachville
1 brother, Marion Ballard of Little Rock
1 sister, Helen Blevins of Leachville
He also leaves 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 2pm Monday at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville with Rev. Huey Meherg officiating. Burial will follow in Leachville Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6-8 Sunday evening at the funeral home. Guest register @www.HowardFuneralService.com
