| | | Marlon Ray Davis, age 69, of Leachville, died Saturday at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born at Powe, Missouri he was the son of the late John C. and Rosa Mae Jackson Davis and had been a Leachville area resident for over 50 years. He was a well known brick mason and a faithful member of the People of Praise United Pentecostal Church in Leachville. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Davis, and a sister, Daisy Fletcher.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Bassett Davis of Leachville
1 son, Rodger Davis of Leachville
3 daughters; Rayann Gillespie of Cave Creek, Arizona, Rhonda Hurley of Leachville, and Rita Scroggins of Leachville.
2 brothers; Jim Davis of Hemet, California and Chester "Bud" Davis of Brookland.
5 sisters; Esoline Norman of Michigan, Classetta Wheeler of Leachville, Len Burge of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Duxie Statler of Leachville, and his twin sister, Carlon Davis of Leachville.
5 grandchildren; Bridgett Dogan, John Davis, B. J. Hurley, Jennifer Davis, and Nikki Gillespie.
3 great-grandchildren; Drew Dogan, Ally Mann, and Dax Dogan.
Funeral service will be 2 pm Wednesday at the People of Praise United Pentecostal Church in Leachville with Rev. Donnie Johnson and Rev. Jerry Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Leachville Cemetery under the direction of Howard Funeral Service of Leachville. The family will receive visitors Tuesday evening from 6-8 at the funeral home.
