| | | Amos Dean Cherry,Jr. age 80, of Manila, died Wednesday at Great River Medical Center in Blytheville. Born at Blytheville, he was the son of the late Amos Dean and Ellis Ford Cherry and was a lifelong Manila resident. He was a long time member and deacon of Bethany Baptist Church. Mr. Cherry was a current member of the Manila City Council having served in that position for 24 years. He was a retired building contractor and Army veteran of the Korean War. He is survived by:

He also leaves 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren
Funeral services will be 10AM Saturday at Howard Funeral Chapel in Manila with Rev. Matthew Collier, Dr. Tony Cherry and Dr. Duane Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Manila Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Frank Kirby, Harold McCain, Whiz Davis, Kerry Baker, Ray Benson and James Skinner. Mr. Cherry's grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.
