| | | OXFORD, CT: Rachel Bailey, 80 of Riggs Street, entered into peaceful rest May 10, 2003 at the Shady Knoll Health Center, Seymour; she was the beloved wife of the late Frederick Bailey. Mrs. Bailey was born April 25, 1923 in Oxford, daughter of the late John Harold, and Annie (Selmquist) Tilquist. She was the retired owner of Bailey’s Produce, Dover Plains, NY. She was a resident of Dover Plains before moving to Oxford in 1980. Mrs. Bailey was communicant of the Oxford United Church of Christ Congregational. She was a member of the David S. Miles Post 174 American Legion Auxiliary, and was a former member of the Oxford Senior Center.
Rachel leaves her loving family including her brother, Harold Tilquist of Oxford, and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour. Family and friends may call at the funeral home also on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Interment will be in Brookside Cemetery.
