NAUGATUCK: Frank J. Betts, age 73 of Las Vegas, NV, formerly of Millville Avenue, Naugatuck, and also formerly of Monroe, Norwalk, and New Canaan, entered into rest April 12, 2002 in Las Vegas; he was the beloved husband of the late Shirley Owens Betts.

Mr. Betts was born July 19, 1928 in New Canaan, son of the late Charles M. and Helen Matowskie Betts. He was a retired cabinetmaker, and stair builder from the Naugatuck Stair Co. He was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War. Frank was very artistic, and he enjoyed drawing, sculpting, woodworking and furniture building. Frank will be most remembered for hi personality and sharp wit.

Frank leaves his loving family including 5 sons, Stephen Betts and Robert Betts both of Seymour, Kevin Owens of Las Vegas, Shawn Owens in CA, and Kyle Owens of Bethlehem. 3 daughters, Karen Betts of Shelton, Tara Zibluk of Oxford, and Kari Salvati of Las Vegas. 1 sister, Helen Nicoletti of New Canaan. 18 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. His brother, Charles M. Betts, Jr., and 2 sisters, Mary Durling and Lillian Mercynak all predeceased him.

A memorial service in celebration of Frank’s life will be held Saturday at 3:00 p.m. in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. Family and friends may call at the funeral home also on Saturday from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Memorial gifts may be sent to the American Lung Association, 45 Ash Street, East Hartford, CT 06108.
