| | | SEYMOUR, CT: Evelyn Borchert, age 85 who was residing at the Shady Knoll Health Center entered into rest there, August 13, 2002; she was the beloved wife of the late Rev. Otto A. Borchert. Mrs. Borchert was born in Shelton on January 22, 1917, daughter of the late Louis and Henrietta Freiheit Kruger. She was a Seymour resident for most of her life. Evelyn was a retired elementary school teacher, and had taught for several years in both the Seymour and Beacon Falls School systems. Evelyn held Bachelors of Education degree from the New Haven Teachers College, and was a 1934 graduate of Shelton High School. Mrs. Borchert was a longtime communicant of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Oxford, where her late husband was formerly Pastor; she was also a choir member, and member of the Ladies Aide Society. Evelyn had a genuine love of music.
She leaves her loving family including, 1 son Phillip L Borchert of Seymour, 1 daughter Susan Borchert of Oxford, and several nieces and nephews. Her brothers William and Frederick Kruger predeceased her.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 9:15 a.m. from the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour, to Immanuel Lutheran Church for a service at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Shelton.
