| | | DERBY, CT: Doris Ella Beam, age 78 of Derby, entered into peaceful rest May 24th at the Griffin Hospital; she was the beloved wife of the late James Harrison Beam, Sr. Mrs. Beam was born February 6, 1928 in Ansonia, daughter of the late Paul and Grace (Knapp) Lux. Doris was a lifelong Valley resident, having mostly resided in Derby. She was retired after thirty eight years from the Chromium Process Company, Shelton. Doris’ greatest love was for her family, especially all of her cherished grandchildren whom will fondly remember her as “Grandma Gigi”.
Mrs. Beam leaves her loving family including, three sons, David John Beam of Derby, Dennis Allen Beam of Waterbury, and Paul William Beam of Bridgeport, two daughters, Cheryl Crosby of Seymour, and Patricia Svehlak of Waterbury, a sister, Irene Budzik of Seymour, sixteen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and one great, great granddaughter. Her son James Harrison Beam, Jr, and her sister Elizabeth Fox predeceased her.
Funeral services in celebration of Doris’ life will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia.
