| | | SEYMOUR, CT: Evelyn Margaret Burt, age 87 of Birchwood Road, entered into peaceful rest February 15, 2003 at the Griffin Hospital, Derby; she was the beloved wife of the late George Burt. Mrs. Burt was born May 24, 1915 in Malden, MA. She resided in Seymour for the past 4 years, having lived most of her life in Ansonia, and for 50 years at Mary Street, Ansonia. Evelyn was a retired assembler with the Chromium Process Co., Shelton where she worked for 20 years, and was also a retired waitress of 30 years at Rapps Grassy Hill Lodge, Derby. She was a communicant of Christ Church, Ansonia, and was a former communicant at Immanuel Episcopal Church in Ansonia where she was very active on the Altar Guild, and the E.C.W. Evelyn enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and sewing; she made many wedding gowns, and nursing uniforms.
Evelyn leaves her loving family including 6 grandchildren, Larry Burt of Ansonia, Terry Duda of Beacon Falls, Nancy Hurd of Seymour, Sherry Roberts of Seymour, Linda Racan of Naugatuck, and Ronald Burt of Windham, ME. 13 great grandchildren, and 1 great, great grandson. 2 daughters-in-law, Maryann Burt of Seymour with whom she made her home, and Sandra Ulrich of Windham, ME. Evelyn’s sons Kenneth and Ronald, brothers, Richard and Gilbert Chirgwin, and sisters, Lillian Chirgwin, and Mable Kirk all predeceased her.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to Christ Church, 56 S.
