| | | Bettie May Kueneman, age 85, of Washington, Iowa died Friday, October 2, 2009 at the Washington Care Center following a lengthy illness.
Celebration of life services will be held 11:00 am Thursday, October 8, 2009 at the Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington, Iowa. The family will receive friends at the Jones Eden Funeral Home from 10:00 until 11:00 am Thursday. Interment will take place in Elm Grove Cemetery. A general memorial has been established. Bettie was born March 6, 1924 in Spooner, Wisconsin the daughter of Charles and Gertrude ( Pierce) Brown. She attended school in Spooner, Wisconsin where she graduated from high school. Bettie was united in marriage to Gilbert Kueneman in 1969. She was previously married to R. Wayne Freel.
Bettie was a homemaker and assisted her husband on the family farming operation. She lived most of her life in Washington County. Bettie enjoyed sewing and quilting and was an accomplished seamstress.
She is survived by her husband Gilbert Kueneman of Washington, Iowa; son Richard Freel Jr. of Galena, Missouri; daughter Cathy McComas and husband Roger of Chico, California; daughter Linda Hagers and husband Gus of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; son Allen Freel and wife Sandi of Galena, Missouri; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and one sister, Jean Depierrio of Chicago, Illinois.
Bettie was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, one brother and one grandson.
