Wilma Mae Steele Beauregard, age 92, of Washington died Wednesday October 21, 2009 at Washington County Hospital following a decline in health.

Celebration of life services will be held 10:30 am Monday at the Jones - Eden Funeral Home with Rev. Sue Meade officiating. Visitation will begin 11:00 am Sunday at the Jones - Eden Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 Sunday afternoon. Interment will take place at the Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. Memorials have been established to Camp Courageous or to the United Methodist Church in Washington. Wilma was born June 12, 1917 in rural Washington County the daughter of Ray Morrison and Elsie Mary (Wingler) Steele. She attended country school. Wilma was united in marriage to Leonard Paul Beauregard on February 2, 1939 in Kahoka, Missouri. Wilma grew up in Washington County, lived in Kansas, and lived in Wayland for three years. She was a farm wife and assisted her husband in their farming operation. She moved to town in the fall of 1986. Wilma attended the United Methodist Church in Washington. She enjoyed fishing, bowling, sports, and liked playing games with family and friends.

Wilma is survived by her son, Ray Alden Beauregard and wife Patricia of Boise, Idaho; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; Son-in-law. Johnie Arbogast of Brighton, Iowa; brother Harold Steele of Wayland, Iowa; and Betty Eash of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1985; one daughter, Elnor Jean "Jeannie" Arbogast in 2002; and two sisters, Lavina Caviggia and Edith Nicholson.
