Dana Kay “Big Momma” Parker, age 38, of Washington died Thursday November 5, 2009 at her home in Iowa City following a lengthy illness.

Memorial services will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday November 10, 2009 at the Jones – Eden Funeral Home in Washington with Pastor Dean Elmore officiating. Interment will take place at the Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington at a later date. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services on Tuesday at the funeral home. Dana was born on October 17, 1971 in Durango, Colorado the daughter of Kenneth Dale and Theresa (McSherry) Deavers. She attended school in Las Vegas, Nevada and later received her GED. On May 3, 2003 Dana was united in marriage to Donald Parker in Mount Pleasant, Iowa. Dana lived in Washington for many years and moved to Iowa City three months ago. She enjoyed tattooing, music, drawing, and writing smart notes. She was the Iowa state arm wrestling champion for three years.

Dana is survived by her husband, Donald Parker of Iowa City; daughter, Alysha Jenkins and her grandbaby on the way of Washington; son, Ryan Neveau of Washington; stepchildren, Karrissa Parker of Washington; Michael Parker of Cedar Rapids; step grandbabies, Harley and Mackenzie; mother, Theresa Deavers of Wayland; sisters, Terri Craft and husband Tim of Washington; Michelle Sanchez of Washington; and two nieces, Krystel Clyburn of New York; Chantea Cotton of Washington; one nephew, Michael Craft of Washington; and her uncle Ray McSherry and wife Tina of Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her father.
