| | | Esther Grace Schwarze, age 97, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, died Saturday, April 18, 2009 at Martin Health Care Center at Western Home Communities in Cedar Falls.
She was born August 10, 1911 in Stitzer, Wisconsin, the daughter of John Frank and Cora Lilly (Schaefer) Daake. Esther was united in marriage with Walter Henry Schwarze on November 10, 1941 in Charles City, Iowa. He preceded her in death on March 12, 1995.
Esther worked as a housekeeper at Western Home Communities in Cedar Falls for over 17 years and was a member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church in Cedar Falls. Esther had been a resident of Western Home Communities since 1978 and dearly loved Tinker the resident cat. She played the piano and organ at many of the church services and sing-a-longs and will be dearly missed by her many friends at Western Home Communities.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter; and two sisters, Ruth Daake and Lyla Daake.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, April 23, 2009 at Western Home Chapel, 420 E. 11th Street, Cedar Falls, with burial in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens in Cedar Falls. Public visitation will be held from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Thursday at Western Home Chapel. The Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel in Waterloo is in charge of the arrangements.
