| | | Emrys Lyle “Em” Pugh, 71, of La Porte City, died Sunday, July 19, 2009 at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo of cancer.
He was born August 6, 1937 in Mankato, MN the son of Thomas John and Irene Loretta High Pugh. He married Betty Mae Michel on November 16, 1962 at the Calvary Bible Church in Washburn.
Em worked as a Technical Engineer for KWWL and UNI for 44 years, retiring on August 23, 2002.
Survived by: his wife, Betty of La Porte City; two daughters, Jo (Eric) Weidman of La Porte City, Jean (Bill) Fajen of West Des Moines; two grandchildren, Heather Weidman and Noah Fajen; three brothers, John (Charlotte) Pugh of Mankato, MN, his identical twin, Emlyn (Pauline) Pugh of North Richland Hills, TX, Howard (Marcia) Pugh of Lake Crystal, MN and one sister, Barbara Miller of St. Peter, MN.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Harold Pugh.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 25, 2009 at Heartland Community Church in La Porte City with burial in the Washburn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, July 24, 2009 at Heartland Community Church in and an hour prior to the services on Saturday at the church.
