| | | Marie W. Gray, 89, of La Porte City Nursing & Rehab, and formerly of Evansdale, died Wednesday morning (July 22, 2008) at Allen Memorial Hospital.
She was born January 10, 1920 in Humeston, the daughter of Winfield and Pearl Sponsler. She married Boyd L. Gray on June 29, 1940 in Nashua. He preceded her in death on June 11, 1998.
Marie was a teacher’s aide at Jewett School in Evansdale for many years. She was also a 60 year member of the First Reformed Church in Evansdale.
She is survived by one son, Ted (Nancy) Gray of Evansdale; one daughter-in-law, Judy Gray of Dunkerton; five grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, James and Thomas; and two brothers, Kenneth and Roy.
Services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, July 25, at the Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball with burial in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral from 4 to 8 P.M. Friday and an hour before services Saturday.
