Fonda Mae Eckenrod, 85, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home of natural causes.

She was born June 19, 1924, in Waterloo, daughter of Aubrey Elsworth and Lucille Mary Billings Nicholson. She married Clem Stocks in November 5, 1939 in Nashua. He preceded her in death on December 31, 1944. She then married Robert Lewis Eckenrod, Sr. October 8, 1948 in Nashua. He preceded her in death July 12, 2005.

Survivors include two sons, Robert (Kathy) Eckenrod, Jr. of Waterloo and Rod A. (Janis) Eckenrod of Waterloo; three daughters, Judy Pint of Halton City, Texas, Jane (Marv) Hansen of Waterloo, and Janice L. Eckenrod of Waterloo; sixteen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; one son, Tommy Eckenrod; one daughter, Jacqualine Pint; five brothers, Francis, Gordon, John, Dean and Elsworth Nicholson; three sisters, Evelyn Nicholson, Naomi Fleiter, and Fern Griffith; and one great grandson, Cameron Deegan.

Services will be 2:30 P.M. Saturday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Friday and one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice.
