| | | Norma Wilder, age 99, of Cedar Falls and formerly of Waterloo, died Saturday, August 22, 2009 at Allen Memorial Hospital.
She was born November 18, 1909 in rural Butler County, Iowa, the daughter of Lloyd A. and Aura (Kelley) Crosby. Norma graduated from Greene (IA) High School and attended Iowa State Teacher’s College in Cedar Falls. She taught in several country schools around Clarksville and Greene in Butler County.
Norma was united in marriage to Byrl Monroe Wilder on June 21, 1930 in Waterloo. He preceded her in death on January 13, 1998. She was a member of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include two daughters, JoEllen (Cliff) Mittlestadt of Ozark, MO and Dawn (Dennis) Hoffman of Waterloo; a son, Arlen Wilder of Waterloo; nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Ian K. Wilder; a daughter-in-law, Marita Wilder; a brother, Neil Crosby and a sister, Avis Bonde.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at Garden View Chapel with burial in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:00 -11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Garden View Chapel.
