| | | Gerald J. Becker, age 68, of Lake City, MN and formerly of Waterloo, died Thursday, September 17, 2009 at his residence.
Gerald James Becker was born December 17, 1940 in Faribault to Henry and Agnes (Meyer) Becker. His family moved to Waterloo, IA where he attended schools. He worked for Rath Packing and later worked at John Deere where he worked as a machinist. Gerald married Barbara Ash on July 25, 1963 in Waterloo, IA. On May 31, 1995 after 29 years of work at John Deere Gerald retired. The couple moved to Lake City, MN. Gerald enjoyed hunting, fishing, bird watching and watching old western movies.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara of Lake City, MN; daughter, Pamela (Kris) Jacque of Denver, IA; son, Rusty Becker of Lake City, MN; seven grandchildren, Ryan (Ellen), Toni, and Alex Jacque, Chelsea, Kaylee, Cole, and Rachael Becker; one great-granddaughter Kaydence Jacque; sisters, Goldie (Clyde) Johnson of Waterloo, Henrietta Becker of Waterloo, Cleone (Jesse) Sternberg of Cedar Rapids IA; brothers, Hubert (Sharol) Becker of Fort Dodge and Wilfred (Jeannette) Becker of Waterloo.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ruby Schock; brothers, Edwin, Leonard, Henry, and Arnold Becker.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at Garden View Chapel in Waterloo with burial in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Monday, September 21, 2009 and an hour prior to the services on Tuesday at the Chapel.
