| | | Teresa M. Patten Nosko, age 49, of Des Moines and formerly of Waterloo, died Saturday, September 19, 2009 at her home.
She was born January 21, 1960 in Waterloo, the daughter of Leonard A. and Nola M. (Hammons) Patten. She was married to Mark Nosko and they were later divorced.
Teresa was a free spirited woman who enjoyed people and loved being in the outdoors. She viewed her life as an adventure. At the time of her death she was studying to become a drug and alcohol abuse counselor.
Survivors include two sons, Shawn Nosko and his companion Joni Durnan of Manchester and Chad and his wife Sarah Nosko of Quasqueton; ten grandchildren, Dakota, Korey, Skylar, Sadie, Cassie, Mason, Marshall, Hailey, Madison and Abby; her parents, Leonard and Nola Patten of Readlyn; two sisters, Debbie and her husband Kevin Kinley of Monona and Angie Hamilton of Cedar Falls; a brother, Lanny Patten of Winthrop; nine nieces and nephews, Carrie, Matthew, Kelly, Joe, Tiffany, Amber, Nicole, Brittany and Blake.
Teresa was preceded in death by her grandparents, Clara and Donald Patten and Cora and Nolan Hammons and a cousin, Rosanne Hammons.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 24, 2009 at the Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel in Waterloo with burial in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday and after 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the Funeral Home.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
