| | | LaVonna Anderson, age 65, of Waterloo, died Sunday, September 20, 2009 at Allen Memorial Hospital.
She was born June 3, 1944 in Waterloo, the daughter of Clifton Unbanks and Louise (Stovall) Monroe. She married Alfred Lee Anderson, Sr. on July 25, 1960 in Waterloo. They were later divorced.
LaVonna worked for Rath Packing Co., Allen Memorial Hospital and retired from John Deere & Co. on July 31, 2001. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church, UAW Local 838 and the Elk’s Club.
Survivors include her three children, Alfred Lee Anderson Jr, Angela Louise Tate and Lee Buchanan, all of Waterloo; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two sisters, Ginger Shirley of Waterloo, Charlotte Monroe of Freeport, IL and a brother, Marvin (Willie Marie) Monroe of Waterloo.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Alcenia Monroe and two brothers, James and Glen Monroe.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 25, 2009 at Antioch Baptist Church with burial in Fairview Cemetery in Waterloo. Friends may call from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday at the Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel in Waterloo and 10:00-11:00 a.m. Friday at Antioch Baptist Church.
