WRuby A. Mixdorf, 90, of Waterloo, died Monday, September 28, 2009 at ManorCare of natural causes.

She was born December 25, 1918 in Decatur County, daughter of Reuben and Clara Miller Negley. She married Albert A. Mixdorf December 24, 1939 in Waterloo. He preceded her in death on September 2, 2008.

Mrs. Mixdorf was employed at Waterloo West High School as a study hall monitor for a few years, and farmed with her husband in Black Hawk County for many years. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and Priscilla Circle there.

Survivors include three sons, Jon Mixdorf of Waterloo, Jay (Kathy) Mixdorf of Clear Lake, and Jack (Sheila) Mixdorf of Cedar Falls; one daughter, Jeri (Gary) Jenner Karr of Waterloo; one sister, Donna Hamilton of Waverly; eleven grandchildren; and twenty great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Jo Ann Kramer; one brother, Gerald Wayne Negley; and one stepsister, Opal Smith.

Services will be 10:30 A.M. Friday at Zion Lutheran Church, with entombment in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Thursday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball and one hour prior to the service at the church.

Memorials may be directed to Zion Lutheran Church.
