| | | Kenneth E. “Morg” Morgensen, age 79, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo.
He was born January 16, 1930 in Waterloo, the son of Helmer and Beatrice (Shea) Morgensen. Kenneth was a US Army veteran, serving during the Korean War from 1951-1953. He was united in marriage with Carolyn A. Buhr on October 6, 1956 in Tripoli, Iowa. She preceded him in death on November 21, 1996.
Kenneth owned and operated Morg’s Lunch in downtown Waterloo for 42 years, retiring in 2002. He was a life member of the Waterloo Elk’s Club. Morg enjoyed his restaurant and loved to visit with everyone. He made many friends over the years.
Survivors include his daughter, Julie Barnes of Prescott, AZ; his son, Scott (Deb) Morgensen of Cedar Falls, IA; and six grandchildren, Noah, Shae, Amanda, Troy, Sara and Tommy.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Carolyn.
Memorial Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, October 15, 2009 at the Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel in Waterloo with inurnment in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday and after 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Funeral Home.
