Dorothy Anne Zikuda, age 89, of Waterloo, died Sunday, October 18, 2009 at Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab Center.

She was born February 12, 1920 in Cresco, Iowa, the daughter of Theodore H. and Mabel (Fye) Aberg. She graduated from Cresco High School. Dorothy was united in marriage with William C. Zikuda on July 27, 1941 in Cresco. He preceded her in death on June 25, 2005.

Mrs. Zikuda was a bookkeeper for Waterloo Concrete Co. until her retirement in 1977. She was a member of Kimball Avenue United Methodist Church and the Priscilla Church Circle. She participated in league bowling for many years and was a talented bowler evidenced by her membership in the 600 club.

Survivors include a son, Kenneth C. (Karen) Zikuda of Waterloo; a daughter, Carol L. (Gus) Puth of Cadiz, KY; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and a sister, Gladys Goffron of Chicago, IL.

Mrs. Zikuda was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William; two brothers, Donald and Leland Aberg and a sister, Irene Folsum.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at Kimball Avenue United Methodist Church in Waterloo with burial in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel and after 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Church.
