| | | Mary E. Bigler, 76, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, October 20, 2009, at the Harmony House of natural causes.
She was born February 20, 1933 in Ossian, the daughter of Henry and Henrietta Zeien Fischer. She married Donald Bigler on January 1, 1948 in Clermont and they were later divorced.
Mary was owner/operator of the Hiway Grill in Jackson Junction for 12 years and then was in the sales department of Walmart in Decorah for a number of years, retiring in 2003.
She is survived by four sons, Ric (Marilyn) Bigler of Olympia, WA, Dan (Cheryl) Bigler and David (Barb) Bigler both of Evansdale, Ben (Jill) Bigler of Independence; three daughters, Leona Bigler of Evansdale, Joyce (Ron) Stohr of Lawrenceburg, KY and Sandi (Calvin) Horn of Elk Run Heights; three brothers, Martin (Bonnie) Fischer of Festina, Jerry (Barb) Fischer of Fort Atkinson and Bobby (Nancy) Fischer of Lincoln; one sister, Margaret Phillips of Waucoma; fourteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Bud and Mickey; and one sister, Venita Phillips.
Services will be 10:30 A.M. Monday, Oct 26, 2009 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church with burial in the Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball from 3 – 6 P.M. Sunday, with rosary at 3:00 P.M. and an hour prior at the church.
Those who wish may direct memorials to the family.
