Agnes Anderson, 95, of La Porte City, died Monday, October 26, 2009 at the La Porte City Nursing and Rehab Center of natural causes. She was born January 28, 1914 in Eagle Center the daughter of James and Anna Stacia Flaherty Marshall. She graduated from La Porte City High School in 1932. She married Estle Dorsey Anderson on January 27, 1937 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in La Porte City.

She was active in the ladies’ circle and the Altar and Rosary Society at Sacred Heart. She loved to sew, crochet, embroider and quilt. She was also an excellent cook and enjoyed her flower garden.

Survived by: one son, Ron (Clare) Anderson of Hudson; three daughters, Evelyn (John) Wright of Waukee, Carolyn Hackett of Colorado Springs, CO, Cathey (Jack) Petersen of Pleasant Hill; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Mary Anderson of Gainesville, Florida; one brother, Edward (Bert) Marshall of La Porte City; one sister Betty Kelvig of Waterloo; sister-in-law, Wilma Marshall of La Porte City and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by: her husband of 48 years, Estle; one son, Richard Anderson; a granddaughter, Jennifer Anderson; two great granddaughters, Madison Shepherd and Isabella Pompeu; two brothers, James and George Marshall and six sisters, Peg Reardon, Delores Conlon, Frances Walters, Marie Marshall, Gertrude McCombs and Pearl Jungling.

Mass of Christian Burial: will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 31, 2009 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in La Porte City with burial in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Waterloo. Visitation will be held Friday from 5-7 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in La Porte City where there will be a 5 p.m. Rosary Service. Visitation will also be held one hour before the service.

Memorials: May be directed to the family.
