Richard E. Gleason, 63, of Waterloo, died Monday evening, November 2, 2009, at the University Hospitals in Iowa City.

He was born July 29, 1946 in Ft Dodge, the son of Eddie and Irene Behnkendorf Gleason. He married Patricia Florea on February 18, 1968 in Cedar Falls and they were later divorced. He then married Toni Davis in September of 1989. They were later divorced.

Richard served in the U.S. Marines Corps and was employed in the Research and Development Division of Chamberlain Mfg.

He is survived by his mother of Waterloo; one son, Rick (Rachael) of La Porte City; two daughters, Capri (Jon) Rieman of Garner and Danielle (Tim) Putman of Waterloo; three brothers, James (Julie) of Waterloo, David (Mary) of Waverly and Joe of Waterloo; and eleven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father; and infant brother, Fred.

Services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, Nov 6, 2009, at Immanuel Lutheran Church with burial to follow. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball and for one hour before services at the church on Friday.

Those who wish may direct memorials to the family.

Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
