| | | Thelma R. Westcott, age 91, of Cedar Falls, and formerly of Waterloo, died Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at Bickford Cottage in Cedar Falls.
Mrs. Westcott was born March 14, 1918 in Boone, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph E. and Edna B. (Rader) Staley. She was united in marriage with Mark W. Westcott on July 29, 1935 in Des Moines, Iowa.
Survivors include three sons, Wayne (Joan) Westcott of Harrisburg, MO., Jerry (Darlene) Westcott of Cresco, IA and Gary (Norma) Westcott of Evansdale, IA; four daughters, Virginia (Arne) Hedenstrom of Warner Robins, GA., Nancy (Don) Schneider of Winona, MN, JoAnn (Kenny) Lichty of Waterloo, and Linda Mooers of Mesa, AZ; 26 grandchildren; 53 great grandchildren; and 17 great great grandchildren; a brother, Donald (Maxine) Staley of Waterloo; two sisters, Jean Lewis of Lazer, CO and Lucyle Hilton of Dallas, TX.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Mark on July 21, 2001; a granddaughter, Wendy Lichty; four brothers, Marvin in infancy, and Walt, LaVerne, and Joe Staley; two sisters, Dorothy Bartush and Hazel Erickson.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 7, 2009 at the Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel in Waterloo with burial in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Friday and after 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Funeral Home.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
