| | | Melvin D. "Bud" Wilson, 71, of Evansdale, died Tuesday morning, June 8, 2010, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo of cancer.
He was born September 12, 1938 in Mill Grove, Missouri, the son of Delbert Oliver and Lois Cecil McLain Wilson. He married Lois K. Hartson on August 10, 1957 in Leon, IA. She preceded him in death on September 23, 2003.
Bud was a machinist at John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works for 30 years, retiring in 2003.
He is survived by one son, Denten "Denny" (Jackie) Wilson; three daughters, Denise "DeeDee" (Michael) Bright and Barbara (Mike) Cahoe both of Evansdale, and Bonita "Boni" (Marc) Puetz of Gilbertville; three sisters, Evelyn (Jonny) Cain and Helen Francis both of Bethany, MO and Shirley (Harold "Curly") Matson of Winstead, MN; ten grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
Bud was preceded in death by one daughter, Lisa K. Wilson; four brothers, Norman, Lawrence, Larry and Clayton; five sisters, Charlotte Wilson, Carole Francis, Vera Thompson, Vivian Sweerin and Katherine Sparks; and one granddaughter, Ariane Cahoe-Miller.
Services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 12, at Faith Assembly of God Church in Elk Run Heights with burial in the Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Friends may call at Garden View Chapel on Friday from 4 - 8 P.M. and an hour before services at the church.
Those who wish may direct memorials to the family.
