| | | Antonnio McNeil “Tony” Sproles, 21, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, June 16, 2010, at Allen Hospital.
He was born September 25, 1988 in Monroe, Louisiana, son of Michael and Christia Morehead Watkins. He was raised by his mother and stepfather, Daniel Diaz.
Antonnio worked at Wal-Mart and Petco in Waterloo and the Village Inn in Cedar Falls through his high school co-op. He graduated from Waterloo West High School with honors.
Survivors include his father, Michael Watkins, Sr. of Monroe, Louisiana; his mother and stepfather, Daniel and Christia Diaz of Huntington Park, California; three brothers, Britny Anderson of Waterloo, Michael Watkins, Jr. of Bastrop, Louisiana, and Cameron Sproles of Waterloo; four sisters, Maya Hollis of Bastrop, Louisiana, Falon Sproles of Waterloo, Shauntreis Sproles of Waterloo, and Shauntice Diaz of Orlando, Florida; paternal grandmother, Edna Watkins of Monroe, Louisiana; maternal grandmother, Helen Sproles Smith of Waterloo; two uncles, Ricky Ricardo Watkins of Los Angeles, California, and Andre Lujuan Watkins of Bastrop, Louisiana; an aunt, Dia (Anthony) Ellis of Waterloo; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Alfonso Watkins; and maternal grandparents, Willie and Janet Balkmon.
Services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball, with burial in Fairview cemetery. Public visitation will be 3:00 to 9:00 P.M. Thursday and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
Antonnio loved playing video games and being on the internet. He was a sociable and friendly person.
