Mark Allen Marvets, age 46, of Oelwein and formerly of Waterloo, died Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at Allen Memorial Hospital from injuries suffered in a fall.

He was born February 21, 1964 in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Linda M. Myers and graduated from Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids. Mark was united in marriage with Judy A. Cleek on June 8, 1992 in Arkansas.

Mark was employed as a carpenter with B & B Construction in Hazelton. He was an avid NASCAR and football fan. He also enjoyed playing football with his sons.

Survivors include his wife, Judy of Oelwein; two sons, Allen Cody Marvets and Devin Cory Marvets, of Oelwein; his mother, Linda Myers of Waterloo; three brothers, Kevin (Karol) Marvets of New Hampton, IA; Randall (Tammy) Marvets of Evansdale, IA and Todd (Rhonda) Myers of Waterloo; two sisters, Kimberly Marvets of Waterloo and Dawn Stocks (Mike Ender) of Elk Run Heights, IA; 18 nieces and nephews and 12 great nieces and nephews.

Mark was preceded in death by his brother, William Myers; his stepfather, Ray Peil and his grandparents.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 15, 2010 at the Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel in Waterloo with burial in Calvary Cemetery in Waterloo at a later date. Public visitation will be held after 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Funeral Home.
