| | | George W. Duhrkopf, 82, of the Western Home Communities in Cedar Falls and formerly of Waterloo, died Tuesday, Sept 14, at Covenant Medical Center.
He was born July 20, 1929 in Sumner, the son of Dewey and Harriet Zimmerman Duhrkopf. He married Dorothy Crow on August 25, 1951 in Waterloo.
George was a cashier at Rath Packing Co. for 43 years and was the business manager at the Waterloo Chamber of Commerce for 7 years, retiring in 1998. He was a member of the Rath Management Club for a number of years.
He is survived by his wife,; two daughters, Kay Cervetti of Cedar Falls and Sue Duhrkopf of Waterloo; three sisters, Helen Harms of Sumner, Sally Duhrkopf of Waterloo and Sharon (Ron) Seehase of Waverly; six grandchildren; one great granddaughter; and two sisters-in-law, Mildred Elliott and Darlene Duhrkopf.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his step-mother; Alberta Duhrkopf, two brothers, Rodney and Howard Duhrkopf; and a brother-in-law, Myron Harms.
Memorial services will be 11:0 A.M. Friday, Sept 16, at Kimball Avenue United Methodist Church. Friends may call from 5 -7 P.M. Thursday at the Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball.
