| | | Gerard “Jerry” Joseph Knipp, age 56, of Dunkerton and formerly of Waterloo, died Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at Covenant Medical Center of natural causes.
He was born March 9, 1956 in Waterloo, the son of Raymond and Lillian (Horna) Knipp. Jerry graduated from Waterloo West High School with the Class of 1974. He was married to Terry Lynette Miller on September 19, 1980 in Waterloo and they were later divorced.
Jerry was employed at A-Line Iron and Metals for more than 25 years. He also served as the manager of Fairview Cemetery in Waterloo for 10 years. Jerry was a member of the Fairview Cemetery Board of Trustees.
Survivors include 3 sons, Tony Knipp, Scotty Knipp and Jimmy Knipp, all of Waterloo; 2 daughters, Candy Knipp of Cedar Rapids and Crystal Knipp of Evansdale; 2 brothers, James (Conchita) Knipp of Moneta, VA and David (Marcia) Knipp of Waterloo; 2 sisters, Helen (Joe) Hellman of Washburn and Mary (Jerry) Sisemore of Roseburg, OR.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Kathleen Clemen and a nephew, Joe Hellman.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 16, 2012 at the Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel in Waterloo with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Public visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Friday and after 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Funeral Home.
