|Deanna Jane Sponamore, 73, of Topeka, passed away April 29, 2012 at a Topeka hospital.
She was born April 29, 1939 in Ottawa KS to Leo Clarence and Mary Cleo (Bellis) Wittman.
Dee graduated from Pomona High School and Emporia State University. She was a member of the Delta Zeta Sorority, the Lutheran Fine Arts Council and some 25 years ago started “Sing-a-long with Dee” with her friend, Ruth Budden, at area nursing homes. Dee taught music and home economics for USD #501 and was the accompanist for the Topeka High School Vocal Department.
She married Tom Sponamore on August 1, 1980, the hottest day of the year. He preceded her in death December 3, 2011. An infant daughter, Jennifer Badsky, preceded her in death in 1965.
Survivors include daughter, Robin Badsky, Topeka; step-daughter, Kim Sponamore, Olathe; siblings, Elaine Schlaefle, Des Moines IA and Warren Wittman, Adairsville GA.
Visitation will be Friday, from 5-6:30 p.m. at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Rd, Topeka KS 66614. Memorial Service will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday at First Lutheran Church, 1234 SW Fairlawn Rd, Topeka KS 66604.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Music Fund at First Lutheran Church sent in care of the funeral home.
