BOONVILLE, Ind. — Gloria June Kirby, 73, died Friday, Nov. 28, 2008 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville.

June was born in Boonville on Sept. 6, 1935 to Jack and Brookie Melton Sanders.

She was a member of Main St. General Baptist Church in Boonville.

June attended Lockyear Business College and Tri State Beauty College. She worked at Capital Paper and Kraft Foods, both in Evansville. She retired from Boonville City Hall after 21 and a half years of service.

June served on the Warrick Council Of Aging Board and Warrick Co. Senior Citizens Center. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 200.

June enjoyed her grandkids and their sporting events.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Jerry F. Sanders, and a granddaughter, Courtny Edwards.

June is survived by her husband of 48 years, Jim Kirby; five daughters, Nancy Lutz and husband, John, Karen Kramer of Boonville, Jan Kroeger and husband, Michael, of Newburgh, Jill Edwards of Boonville and Jane Schuble and husband, Tim, of Chandler; nine grandchildren, John Phillip, Elgin and Hillary Lutz, Zachary, Rachael and Ethan Edwards, Kirby Schuble, Michael and Jordan Kroeger; a sister, Doris Roth of Boonville; a brother, Jack Sanders of Newburgh; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved pug, Sophie.

Funeral service 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2008 at Koehler Funeral Home Boonville Chapel with Rev. Kevin Morris officiating. Burial in Maple Grove Cemetery in Boonville.

Friends may call from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday and from 11 a.m. until service time Tues. at Koehler Funeral Home Boonville Chapel.

Memorial contributions in memory of June may be made to the Warrick County Senior Citizens Boonville Center.
