| Ernest Edward Kroeger, 74, of Boonville, IN went to be with his Lord and Savior on July 4, 2012, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He retired from Squaw Creek Coal and was a UMWA member Local #1189. Ernest was an active member of Yankeetown United Methodist Church, Evansville District Walk to Emmaus, and volunteered at Santa Claus campground. He was a devout Christian and cherished by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pauline (Day) and Raymond Kroeger; and his brother, Robert Kroeger. Ernest is survived by his wife of 48 years, Carole (Skelton) and daughters; Jennifer (Kevin) Green of Boonville, IN, Jeannie (Ron) Dawson of Henderson, KY, and Julie (Todd) Dunsworth of Patronville, IN; one sister, Judy (Earl) Phelps of Newburgh, IN; and grandchildren, Jacob (Karisa) and Erin Green, Megan and Kaci Dawson, Andrew and Sarah Dunsworth; and several nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Dr. Thomas Waits, Dr. Michael Miller, Dr. Melinda Jackson, staff of OHA, Vista Care, and family and friends for their care and support. Memorial contributions may be made to Santa Claus Campground Corp. Funeral service 10AM Sat. July 7th at Yankeetown United Methodist Church. Rev. Jerald Boyer will officiate the service with burial in Bates Hill Cemetery. Friends may call Friday 2-9PM at Koehler Funeral Home-Boonville Chapel and Saturday 9AM until service time at Yankeetown United Methodist Church.
