Hoyt G. Oxley left this world to meet his Lord peacefully on Oct. 5, 2012 at the age of 92.
He was born March 6, 1920 to Dennis & Rava (Parker) Oxley.
Hoyt was a life long Warrick County Grain and Dairy farmer and an accomplished wood worker. He built many houses and barns in this area. Upon retirement he did numerous wood working projects, building beautiful kitchen cabinets, other furniture, wall decorations and the list goes on and on.
His God, his church and his family was his life. He was a member of Heilman Mt. Olive General Baptist Church and was ordained a Deacon in l955, he also served as church treasurer.
He was inducted into the Warrick County Agricultural Hall of Fame in 2008.
Hoyt was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Hollis, Hugo and Heman and his sister, Helen Head.
Surviving Hoyt are his wife of 73 years, Mildred L. (Tuley) Oxley, his children: Marlene Powell (Jerry), Larry (Sandy), Darrell (Judy) all of Heilman, and Leon (Lana) of Boonville, eight grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and two on the way, and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral service 11am Central Time Tuesday, Oct. 9th at Mt. Olive General Baptist Church in Heilman, Ind. Rev. Theo Allen will be officiating the service with burial in Garrison Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call Monday 3-8pm Central Time at Koehler Funeral Home-Boonville Chapel and Tuesday 10am Central Time until service time at the church.
Memorial contributions in memory of Hoyt may be made to the Mt. Olive General Baptist Church or a favorite charity.
